MATCH 3: Cascadia win 6-0 against Tamil Eelam: Will continue to Knock Out Stage

Coach Nichols reacts to Cascadia's 6-0 victory.

In a nail biting match against Tamil Eelam, the 10 man Cascadia squad was able to create a victory leaving no chances that the team would not move onto as the runner up of A-Group, and will now move from the group qualifiers to the quarter finals.

Because of the structure of the match, a Cascadia victory could have been made mute by the Barawa defeat the Isle of Man (with each team losing to each other) - meaning that it came down to a matter of goal differential. Cascadians had a huge differential to overcome - and even with a lead of 5, at that point an Isle an Man goal would have eliminated Cascadia but the men in green, white and blue were taking no risks.

When Ferguson with the sixth, he guaranteed Cascadian qualification and history and an increasingly supportive and vocal crowd erupted. In Group A, Barawa will move on as the group winner, and Cascadia the runner up.

Cascadia will now play Kárpátalja, the winner from group B - a team representing the Hungarian minority in Carpathian Ruthenia (Zakarpattia Oblast, Ukraine) at Sutton on Tuesday.
